SHOTGUN & RIFLE AMMUNITION

We carry a wide range of shotgun and rifle ammunition.

Rifle calibres from 17HMR through to 30-06 Springfield, by Federal, Lapua, Remington and Hornady.

Our preferred .22 Rimfire ammunition is either Winchester subsonic or SK

Shotgun cartridges in 12,16,20,28 and .410 are generally held in stock all year.

Our favoured suppliers are Express, Hull Cartridge, Eley, Gamebore and RC.

During the Game season we carry a wide range of different load sizes for both 12 and 20 gauge shotguns, and can get to order pretty much anything within two days.

A VALID SHOTGUN OR FIREARMS LICENCE IS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE AMMUNITION

Here at the Brown Trout we pride ourselves on our selection of trout and salmon reels.
Whereas most salmon reels have a modern disc braking system to facilitate playing larger species of fish- allowing the angler more control over his opponent, trout reels tend to be designed on a traditional click and pawl system, where the purpose is more to contain the line.
Reels tend to become part of what one's pleasure is in fly fishing- they become old friends, and many a happy memory of epic struggles with fish are relived purely by taking one's reel out of its bag at the begining of a new season in anticipation of things to come.
In both cases a reel is often considered to be what is loosely known as "Gentlemens Jewellery"
This is because many a reel is gifted to an angler from his/her partner to commemorate some special occasion.
