Week Commencing 25th April 2010 – 3 rods
The Lochlane and Laggan fishing comprise 2.1 miles of double bank and 0.32 miles of single bank fishing extending from the new Strowan Bridge downstream to the confluence of the Turret Burn (inclusive of 0.16 miles of right bank of the Turret Burn) with the River Earn.
Lochlane and Laggan (also known as Lady Mary’s Walk) beats, are amongst the most attractive beats on the River Earn, easily accessible being only 2 miles from Crieff, yet very private and secluded.
The fishing at Lochlane and Laggan is split into 4 beats: Upper Lochlane, Middle Lochlane, Lower Lochlane and Laggan each providing exciting and varied fishing for three rods on a rotating basis. Excellent sport is available throughout the season which is open from the 1st February to 31st of October.
Three roads are available meaning that your beat on the day has not been thrash by some over enthusiastic German before you have even knocked to top of your boiled egg with toasted soldiers as dawn breaks! The full time ghillee is a certain John Young who will happily advise guests where the fish lie and how to fish this stunning stretch of river. Being surprisingly patient John is an excellent tutor of all things fishing and will be happy to help any guests who are new to the sport or wish to improve their art.
There are three excellent fishing huts which are pleasantly furnished for any a good fishing lunch! All the huts are accessed by private tracks that can be approached by a normal road vehicle with caution. 2010 bag for the week was 9 sea trout and 4 salmon
There is a myriad of self catering accommodation throughout & around Crieff as well as some excellent Hotels within a very short distance.
Cost for the week £350.00 for all 3 rods! |
